Apparently this tiny, rare owlet was discovered in the wild in a remote part of Peru for the first time recently. It's very small and apparently there are only between 250 and 1000 of them hanging around in some forests that are gradually getting destroyed through deforestation.
I'm always happy when I learn of discoveries like this - it reminds me that no matter how bored or frustrated I might be there is always something new to discover, something new to learn. And that, to me, is what being here is all about.

Coming home
At the end of a hectic and stressful trip I argue that there is no better sight than this. Only when your suitcase is packed and ready to go do you feel like you're really going home. And I like that feeling. :)

Fancy Capuccino
Thought this was worth capturing - probably the most beautiful capuccino (and it's younger cousin - a Spring Maple Latte) ever prepared and served at a coffee shop called Zoka in Akasaka. It took me a while to decide to ruin the effect by beginning to drink it, whereupon the image began to look more and more like a Japanese female anime character with perfect hair. Or perhaps I'd just had too much coffee...?

Toby Thank You Card
I visited Jay and Sarah for an afternoon last month while in the UK, during which I put together an impressive space vehicle from Toby's lego set, ate some homemade bakewell tart and play DS games with Jay. Toby drew this picture for me as a thank you for the Star Wars watches I took him by way of a belated Xmas gift. Apparently they continue to be a huge hit! :)
