As I walked around the Imperial Palace earlier today I noticed that there were a large number of these enormous spiders hanging from intricate three dimensional webs on the trees that ring the palace grounds. They remind me of the spider thingies that lurk all over the place in the Legend of Zelda games, but which are actually pretty easy to kill with a well placed throw of a boomerang or a slingshot-launched Deku nut.
It took me a little while to work up the courage to get close enough to take this picture. They really are pretty scary.
