It turns out this album was recorded in demo form around 17 years ago and has been dusted off by Paddy McAloon - the songwriter behind all the band's music - and cleaned up for our listening pleasure.
I found this quote from a review online: "On first listen, Prefab Sprout’s ‘Let’s Change The World With Music’ is already better than almost anything we can think of."
The album is released next week in the UK and I've already got my order in to Amazon.co.uk for them to ship it to me as soon as possible.
And for those of you who are saying 'Huh? Prefab who?' - go and find some of their songs online (or via Simplify Media if you've received an invite from me) and check out some of the most perfect pop songs ever recorded.
