Updates Updates Updates

Yeah, I know. Not much activity on the site in the past week or so. Sometimes you just have to live life a bit in order to have something to write about. So, here's a quick recap of all the goings on with the UlloaSullivan's in the past week or so.

I got back from Dubai on Thursday evening and met M, Lizz and Mark Anthony for dinner at the local Chinese before heading home to see Cornflake who had just returned that day from her most recent visit to the vet. It appears she'd been bitten again - the neighbor cats are pretty big and country-fied as compared to our dainty, high class city kitty Cornie - and it had gotten infected. We didn't realize quite how bad it actually was until we saw her that night with a 6 inch scar, held together with 13 staples, a drain and a large area of her back right hip shaved. M made me promise not to take a picture of her and post it on here so you'll have to make do with your imaginations. Or, if you're really curious, ping Aaron who took a couple of snaps on his iPhone... just don't let M know I told you where to get them.

Last Friday we participated in a dinner and game night with Kim, Ev, Johnny, Freddy, Aaron and Christina. Dinner was at a Japanese Tepenyaki restaurant in Fresno where we were taken care of by the hilarious and entertaining (but slightly crazy) chef pictured here. We told him it was Aaron's birthday (ok, I told him) and of course that escalated his various antics somewhat. After a brief delay and journey back to Kingsburg we then played the game 'Things' at our house until a little past 2am. Rest assured that if you visit us sometime in the near future you will end up playing this game with us - it is at once a test of how clever at misleading people and how vulgar you can be. At least, based on the way we play it. I think only the former is what was really intended by the creators however.

Then, after a fairly normal week of hard work and making sure that Cornflake had all her whims and wants taken care of, we were greeted on Friday morning by the pool builders and their excavation equipment. After the spray painting of colored lines on the lawn and debate about where precisely the pool was going to be positioned and whether it was long enough, wide enough, deep enough, etc. they then proceeded to clear all the weeds, tear up the lawn and dig the hole.

And so, apart from the minutiae of our day-to-day existence that pretty much brings you up to date on what's being go on at Chez UlloaSullivan. I'm heading to Tokyo today for a week of intense business-y stuff (and hopefully a night out in the Cavern Club, Roppongi to see a Beatles cover band) and we're looking forward to Helen stopping by next weekend after her stint broadcasting the Curling at the Winter Olympics and a trip to Alaska.

So, don't worry if the site looks quiet for a few days every now and again. It's only a temporary pause so that we have something new and exciting to share with you all soon. And, if you're really lucky, you'll get to participate in the adventures that those updates are made of.

Hang on, are you sure that's gonna be big enough ;-) !

We have our fingers crossed that it will meet everyone's needs and expectations of a UlloaSullivan pool. At last measurement we determined it was going to be just a little larger than the pool you used last year. ;)

That reminds me - are we likely to have a Nick and EK visit this year?

We are gonna have some good ties in that pool! Ava has been working on mastering making Gin & Tonic.

That's good to hear. That is a required skill for any 1 year old that wants to hang out with us. :)

UlloaSullivan thinks...

... not everyone can pull off wearing Orange but Connor Kirchman, like myself, is one of them.
