While they deliberately scheduled the release of the iPad to coincide with our wedding anniversary today I have held strong and pre-ordered one of the first batch to ship with 3G cellular communications later this month.
Yes, it's tough reading all the blogs and news posts from those folks that have managed to get their hands on the first batch of Wi-Fi only iPads today, but I am sitting pretty; smug in the knowledge that one that I'll be getting later this month will bring us back in to the 21st century and allow us to download movies and other content without being restricted by the limits of the HughesNet satellite service we've had to live with for the past 7 months or so since moving into the new house.
In any case, if had received an iPad on the first day of release I would have been paying attention to the new lady in my life. Perhaps that's the simple secret to being happily married after 17 years - knowing which side my bread is buttered.
