I'm now back in Tokyo and dealing with the joys of unpacking and jet lag while getting caught up on work stuff.
One thing that made me happy was checking the mailbox for the apartment after arriving to find that, amongst the local junk mail advertising which local restaurant has the best Sushi and which new apartment building has the most beautiful gardens, I had received my first piece of mail from overseas. That it turned out to be a birthday card from Chuck and Janie was a nice surprise too!
Thanks for thinking of me, C&J - it's nice to know that it's not 'out of sight, out of mind' with you guys.
Rita - how could you let this happen? You're always so good with being the first phone call (regardless of time zone) on special occasions I have to admit to being a little disappointed in you.
