Gran Buckerfield passed away yesterday, just two months shy of her 93rd Birthday.
Her bottomless well of kindness and generous spirit saw her helping take care of the 'old people' well into her eighties. She would have carried on much longer if she could - that was just who she was.
My childhood memories are full of summers spent in Cholsey with her and Granddad, taking country walks, helping on the allotment and being educated on the ways of the world and their experiences as a young married couple during the war. She had endless patience and affection (and tea and cakes) for all of us.
Thank you Gran. You gave us so much.
