Princing in London

After Prince

We met up with Paul and Steph last night to go the Prince concert at the O2 arena here in London. They stopped by the hotel in Kensington for a couple of pre-concert drinks and then jumped on the tube and headed over to the arena.

Mum had been raving about how great the Jubilee line (the underground line that services the arena) was - 'it's liking seeing the future' she said - and so we were excited to experience that for ourselves. Well, if the train of the future is clean, runs pretty much on time, and has perspex barriers between the platform and the tracks then it certainly meets the bill!

The concert itself was good - not the best Prince show we've been to, but certainly better than many gigs. He teased us with multiple encores, played some amazing guitar, said that he'd be there all night and then the gig finished just before 11.

Perhaps the best part though was witnessing Paul try and avoid being cuddled by an extremely drunk middle-aged woman on the train after the event. It was amusing seeing him try to squirm his way into the corner of the train as it became increasingly clear that she was on the verge of passing out. Many of our fellow passengers also noticed her advances on him too. Luckily she left (or fell out of?) the train at the next stop and saved him from further embarrassment.

Glad you could join us Paul and Steph. :)

... not everyone can pull off wearing Orange but Connor Kirchman, like myself, is one of them.
