I was just reading an article about Peter Houghton, the recipient of an artificial heart who claims that since receiving the implant he lost the ability to feel emotions.
While it's entirely possible that he is just an !@#$hole, reading about his outlook on life makes me wonder, that if this is actually an outcome of extending life in this science fiction-like manner, is it worth it?
